BEt you can help gambling-related harms training programme
The Bet You Can Help Now course uses a public health approach, underpinned by a first aid model and is relevant to anyone that wishes to improve their understanding of gambling-related harms and their impacts on the individual, their loved ones and wider society. The course provides candidates with an understanding of the nature, concepts and impacts of harmful gambling and gambling related harm, it enables them to identify and signpost affected individuals to sources of reliable information,advice, guidance and support through services delivered via The National Gambling Support Network (NGSN).

The training is made up of 2 main components:

BET YOU CAN HELP NOW:
This FREE offer is a 1hr 30 min session that can be delivered face to face (location dependent) or online at a convenient time and covers the following:

Learners will develop their knowledge and understanding of gambling related harms

Learners will have increased confidence in implementing effective screening and interventions with those at risk of gambling related harms

Learners will be aware of and understand the appropriate levels of support available to help and support those affected by gambling related

BET YOU CAN HELP LEVEL 2 AWARD IN TACKLING GAMBLING RELATED HARMS:
​
This second component is a full day training session enables learners to gain a qualification in tackling gambling-related harms accredited by the Royal Society for Public Health. This module is a continuation from Bet You Can Help Now and covers the following:

The prevalence and different perspectives of gambling harms

The identification of gambling harms and specialist support
-
Treatment and signposting available to help those in need

In order to gain the award, there is a multiple choice question paper at the end of this training day.
